It’s sad to think baseball season is over, at least for the Texas Rangers. After one of the worst (if not the absolute worst) seasons in history, there are several questions in the air about what this team will look like next season. We lost our president, our manager and several great players. However, baseball season isn’t entirely over just yet though.
No, the Rangers aren’t playing but we are at the start of the playoffs as the final 10 teams fight for one title; World Series champions.
As I sit here and type up this piece, I’m also enjoying watching the Kansas City Royals take on the Oakland Athletics in a one-game playoff round, and so far, it’s been extremely entertaining. As a Rangers fan who can’t stand Oakland, I so want the Royals to win. Kansas City going deep would be a great underdog story seeing as it’s something that hasn’t happened in nearly 30 years.
Each matchup, each game, each team and each player have great stories surrounding them. It’s not about Xs and Os. There’s so much strategy and hard work put in. Everybody has a journey as they try to get to the destination of the World Series.
I honestly feel bad for people who don’t enjoy America’s Pastime because it’s one less enjoyment they’re missing out on in their lives. It’s definitely a mystery because, I’m not quite sure what’s not to like. At any rate, I’d encourage people everywhere to check out the baseball postseason while there’s still a chance because after it’s over, it’s going to be a long time until we get it back again.
