Unless you’re living under a rock (a really, really heavy rock), you’ve probably heard a lot about the Adrian Peterson situation. The East Texan was suspended for the entire 2014-2015 NFL season for child abuse. Whether or not that was a fair punishment, is a different discussion. The question now is, “where will Peterson play?”
Peterson has spent his entire NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, but as he approaches the end of his career, chances are he will likely have a new home in the 2015 season. His situation is a lot like Barry Sanders in the 90s. The Vikings don’t have a solid quarterback, no great wide receivers and the defense needs help to say the least. If Peterson wants to win the Super Bowl, Minnesota is not the place to make that happen, but as we all know, it all comes down to money, and if that’s what he wants, that’s what he’ll get.
His dad has said Peterson is interested in a handful of teams, one of which is the Cowboys. Peterson, who’s from Palestine, would be close to home if he came to the Cowboys and as we all know, Jerry Jones likes to make a big splash. However, if you’re hoping this happens, don’t be optimistic. There’s enough talk about whether or not the Cowboys will be able to sign Dez Bryant and Demarco Murray. If they can’t, they certainly can’t afford to bring in Peterson. Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see where the East Texas running back plays next season.
