That time is right around the corner. Before you know it, fans all across the Lone Star State will gather under the lights of Friday nights to see some of gh school he best high school athletes go at it on the gridiron.
As we all know, Tyler is home to Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium, one of the most well known high school football facilities in East Texas. It serves as home to the John Tyler Lions, Robert E. Lee Red Raiders as well as the Tyler Junior College Apaches.
The stadium located at 700 Fair Park Drive holds a seating capacity of 12s,000. The field is named after Tyler’s own, Earl Campbell (The Tyler Rose), a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Fans who show up for the game will also be able to enjoy the state of the art video board.
During football season I go to a game every Friday night. Yes, it’s my job but I’d love to sit in the stands and just enjoy the game for once, so why wouldn’t you? It’s cheap entertainment as you get to enjoy a competitive battle between two teams and maybe even see the next Adrian Peterson.
High school football is slated to kick off Friday, August, 29. That night will see John Tyler play host to Plano at Rose Stadium.
