In 2004, Will Ferrell starred in Anchorman, one of the most quoted movies in recent history. In December, Ferrell and his crew will make a return to the big screen in Anchorman 2: The Legend continues.
Just like the first film, the sequel is produced by Judd Apatow and written by Adam McKay. It’s all-star cast includes Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Davie Koechner, Christina Applegate, Fred Willard, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson and Chris Parnell.
Ron Burgundy (Ferrell) and his Channel 4 news team disbands until a new 24-hour news station gets assembled and recruits the crew.
Other stars making cameos include Nicole Kidman, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kirsten Dunst, tina Fey, Liam Neeson, John C. Reilly, Kanye West and more.
In April 2011, Ferrell said there were no plans to film a second movie because Paramount owned the rights to Anchorman and had decided against it. Eventually, Paramount and the production crew decided to go separated directions.
In March 2012, Ferrell announced the official plans to release the sequel while appearing on the Conan O’Brien Show while dressed as his Ron Burgundy character.
The film is scheduled to be released Wednesday, December 18.
Seeing as the original film was so popular, it may be hard for the sequel to live up to fan’s expectations but the final verdict remains to be seen.
