Assisted Living Specialists in Tyler, Texas Can Calm Elderly Person’s Fear

January 27th, 2011

[ad#Wall and Madison]
Tyler TX elder careIt can be hard for an elderly person to understand that they can no longer live alone. You must remember that, most of the time, these elderly people have been living independently for at least 50 years or more. They don’t want to have to suddenly start depending on someone else to help them do things that they have done all their lives. It’s a big change and it can be a very hard one to adjust to.

That’s why the elderly people living in Tyler, Texas are so lucky to be living in a city that has numerous assisted living facilities and services to offer. If your elderly relative is having issues about needing someone to live with them, or at least nearby, you need to make an appointment with a counselor at one of these facilities so that your elderly relative can go and meet with them. This counselor is where your relative can get many questions answered and have all options put before them so they can make the best decision for themselves.

Once the elderly relative understands that this is what needs to happen to stay safe, there should be fewer issues with them agreeing to some sort of different living arrangement that will work out for everyone involved. The facilities in Tyler employ staff members that are very knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with the fears of elderly people when it comes to changing lifestyles. They will be more than happy to help you work things out for the best.

Affordable but quality craftmanship in home remodeling repairs in the Tyler TX area

January 26th, 2011

Over the last 2 years I have had several different home remodeling companies over to our Tyler TX home. During this time of being a general contractor of sorts for my own home I have seen a lot of problems that happen by not questioning contractors and getting enough bids from different companies.

I hope that this article can help you in making an informed decision when hiring a home remodeling company to fix up your Tyler Texas home.

The number one headache I have at this point is the issue I have been dealing with of a bad paint job in my sons room.

I failed to ask the painters I hired if they would be using quality paint rather than closet paint.

You see there are different qualities of paint and the lower the quality the cheaper the cost.

Although you may pay a painting company a certain price and may have even haggled them down quite a bit they can make up for it in what quality of paint they purchase.

I have even been told that cheap closet paint was used in many of the mansions built at the Cascades. I have no idea if this is true but so what, what could be the worst case scenario?

I personally have experienced what problems creep up with low quality paint. The problem I have had is that within only a few short weeks whenever my son has scraped a hotwheel car against the wall or even a book the paint would peel off.

Keep in mind the paint has had plenty of time to dry but nonetheless the paint peels off if there is even the slightest harsh brush against it.

This paint peeling problem is number one issue that occurs when a low quality paint job is done on an interior home paint job.

Be sure to ask the painters you hire exactly what type of paint they plan on purchasing for the job and why. Also ask them if the paint is considered a low quality paint or high quality.

Don’t let a painter convince you that low quality is just as good and if youwant go ahead and call Sherman Williams paint store and talk the choice of paint over with a sales man.

A Sherman Williams paint sales guy will usually no more than many grunt level painters who haven’t even picked up a single book on the subject of professional painting.

Unfortunately in many cases a general contractor must know more about each aspect of the construction of a house than the individual niche experts putting the house together.

For each new project you plan for your Tyler TX home go ahead and watch a few short youtube instructional videos and you will find you will have plenty of good interview questions to ask your local Tyler Texas home contractor.

Interruption Marketing and Tyler Mall Kiosks

January 21st, 2011

Simon Mall Tyler TXAt the Tyler Texas Simon mall you have likely been asked if you wanted your hair straightened no matter whether you were a guy, a girl, your hair was already straight, and any number of other reasons.

This is interruption marketing at its best depending on the perspective. You may have been an old grandfather going to the GNC store to buy some prune juice pills but a nice young girl with a foreign accent got your attention and asked if you want your hair straightened or a finger nail manicure.

The grandfather may have just come off an assisted living bus that dropped off him and several other elderly people off and next to prune juice pills a manicure and conversation with a pretty talkative young girl sounds great!

So when walking through the mall in Tyler Texas and you get asked for a manicure even though you are a 34 – 84 year old guy think about the service to the elderly. You can see a positive in that these kiosk guys and girls provide a level of social interaction for neglected elderly that visit the local Tyler mall sometimes just to stretch their legs.

Texas Considers Domestic Violence Registry

January 21st, 2011

Texas Domestic ViolenceI’m not sure what I think of this, but the state of Texas is considering the creation of a “domestic violence registry” similar to the one for sex offenders. It seems so many women repeatedly find themselves in abusive relationships that our state is considering doing the job that has traditionally been done by dads and older brothers for centuries, namely, weeding out undesirable suitors for their female family members. I am a proponent of the sex offender registry. That has been a good tool for parents as well as a source of shame and isolation for the sickies out there who have survived the big house and made parole. But I’m not sure about this one. The bill is being proposed by Texas Democratic Congressman, Trey Martinez Fischer of the 116th district encompassing the San Antonio area.

Let me start by saying unequivocally, that I have never struck nor otherwise abused any of the women in my life. The kind of domestic abuse the law would aim at is not the average day in or day out argument over the remote control or leaving the toilet seat up. It would require anyone convicted of domestic violence three times or more to register with the state. A data base would be kept, and anyone could check the list for the names of potential mates free of charge. The thinking is that it would give women in particular who have been in bad marriages and relationships, a means of ensuring that they are not entering into another dangerous relationship. The concern I have is that I’m not sure I want the government, even the state government, compiling lists of citizens, and what they do wrong for the benefit of other citizens. I’m fine with the sex offender registry, being that, that is a particularly distasteful and dangerous crime largely against children. But where do the registries stop? There is an argument out there that says “hey if you’re not guilty you have nothing to worry about.” This may be true at present, but these things have a way of expanding into more and more areas covering more and more offences. Will there be a registry for drivers who chronically forget to renew their vehicle registration or inspection tags? If so I’d like to know now because it may influence my position!

I’m open to being wrong on this, but in an era where the arm of the national government is over reaching into all areas of the citizens life I find it hard to consider feeding the beast. I realize the proposed law is only state wide, but with unlimited free access we’re airing a lot of people’s dirty laundry. It will be interesting to see what comes of the bill. I look forward to hearing the various arguments so I can come to a more informed decision, but at present I find that I’m very uncomfortable with the new registry.

Abortionist Accused of Murder

January 20th, 2011

Kermit GosnellWhile trolling the news for article topics I came on one, the subject of which is the stuff of nightmares. Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell has been arrested after a grand jury investigation into his practice. The details of what was uncovered are horrifying! This “Doctor” performed abortions and surgeries in extremely unsanitary conditions all the while ridiculing his patient’s discomfort. One story I read talked about pets and liter boxes being present in the O.R. at the time surgeries were taking place. Unlicensed, under-aged, assistants also participated in operations.

But all of this is merely on top of the real charges. The not- so good “Doctor” is facing third degree murder charges in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, an immigrant from Napal. He allegedly mis- proscribed Mrs. Mongar’s anesthetics. But Gosnell’s offenses don’t stop there. Evidently he has been performing illegal late term abortions for some time. He faces murder charges in the deaths of seven newborns whom he murdered with a pair of scissors. As if it could get any worse, he is suspected in the deaths of hundreds more. And his twisted services didn’t come cheap. He evidently made close to two million dollars as a low rent medical assassin.

Look I as a conservative Anglo- Catholic Christian I detest this “Doctor’s” profession under the best of circumstances. I find the abortion industry (and it is an industry) inhumane and dehumanizing. I don’t care how pretty the flowers in the waiting room or how superficially caring the staff are. But this “physician” is nothing more than a sanctioned serial killed, right down to the ghoulish trophies he kept in jars around his office. In my opinion, this guy is every bit the insane killer Jared Loughner is. He may actually be worse, because while Loughner’s insanity is clear to all, Kermit Gosnell hides his evil behind a mask of titles, education and self righteous justification.

The D.A. in Philly has announced plans to throw the book at Gosnell. In a statement to the press he stated he may in fact pursue the death penalty in the case. We’ll see whether or not the jury convicts in the case. With the preponderance of evidence I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t. At the very least I expect that he will lose his license to practice his macabre form of medicine.
