Dr. Hands in Lindale Texas Near Tyler

July 28th, 2011

When you are raising children and paying for school, money gets tight, and you forget about the importance of saving money for doctor’s appointments. But tucked away in Lindale are the offices of Wendell and Donna Hand.

Call Dr. Hand at 903-882-3194

When you walk into the doctor’s office you will only be greeted by an over crowded waiting room decorated by a few faded posters on the wall and outdated magazines. Being a walk-in doctor’s office, it is “first come first served.” So you might be waiting in the two small rooms for quite awhile, depending on which doctor you are there to see. At times the small waiting rooms can feel extremely crowded and uncomfortable.

After you sit there for a quite awhile your name is called and if you didn’t have a headache before you probably do now. As a side note I would like to say to all the people out there, that if someone is sitting in the doctor’s office waiting area they probably are not feeling well, please do not talk so loud that people can hear you from outside, or play extremely annoying hard core rock music out of your headphones, so loud that everyone around you feels like they are going deaf.

A lady will lead you into the back with a smile on her face. You never have been so happy to see a doctor to get out of the chaos of the waiting room. When you walk to the back room, they weigh you in and sit you in the doctor’s office.

After you answer a few questions to the doctor’s assistant you are left in the back office to wait some more. When the doctor comes in you are welcomed with a personal friendship. I usually see Dr. Wendell Hand, he always seems to remember me and my family. Its great to have the comfort of a friendly greeting.

Dr. Hand always is there to help you feel better but he will offer the cheapest way to become healthy. Both doctors understand that a lot of their patients are not wealthy so they serve their patients as a mission to reach out to the community and less fortunate.

Although you may need to sit and wait some what annoyed for a while, if you need to go to a doctor, but can not afford the $100 dollars up front plus the insane amount of hidden fees, than you should go to the offices of Dr. Hand. They treat you with respect and will help you live the most healthy lifestyle.

Power Balance bracelet had to admit they are a scam

January 5th, 2011

For those who read this blog you may have noticed we have written about the Power Balance bracelet as well as the EFX and many other bracelets that supposedly balance your body or do some other health benefit.

What is the Power Balance Scam?

Many celebrities and athletes use these bracelets and wear them out in public. People like P. Diddy, Robert De Niro, David Beckham and others have been caught on camera wearing these superstitious things.

Well the Australian government has asked for Power Balance to officially apologize for making false claims to the citizens of Australia and offer a refund.

Yesterday a class action lawsuit was issued in California against Power Balance bracelets as well. This is a typical Kevin Trudeau type of thing where a company starts selling something and saying all kinds of claims knowing they will get hit with class action lawsuits, attorney general investigations and so forth only to do it all over again.

I am sure Power Balance knew they would have to pay for scamming eventually but several people probably raked in money handsomely in the process.

Power Balance bracelets is now on record in the country of Australia for admitting that their bracelet really is the scam I have been saying it is for several months now.

Unfortunately even when a company comes out and declares that they are a scam it will not detract hard core believers. The reason people will continue to believe in these things is the same reason people will always believe in horoscopes, crystals, and Indian dream catchers.

You can see the official notice that they had to write and publish in the image below.

Fushigi Ball, Is it Amazing or What!?

July 24th, 2010

The Fushigi Ball infomercial actually is very controversial among the hard core contact juggling artists that do this on the street, sidewalks, subway, etc.

They feel as though an infomercial guru and large manufacturing plant in China is attempting to rebrand their art form known as “contact juggling” to “Fushigi”.

They also believe that they are hoping for these commercials to create the new Hackie Sack phenomenon among emo and wolf pack teenagers in highschool.

This fad would than spread throughout the world as Fushugi instead of it’s proper name, “contact juggling”.

Wow! The controversy has me dumbfounded as I would have never imagined there was a pist off “contact juggler” out there crying fowl.

Has anyone in Tyler seen the Fushigi Ball on TV? There is an ad spot on kids TV channels showing this amazing ball.

They say things like “Gravity Defying” and other amazing language.

All it is is a metal ball incased in a transparent bouncy ball type inclosure.

There are several adults and kids on the commercial moving these balls around on their arms and hands and exclaiming how amazing they are.

What the commercial doesn’t tell you is that these people are all skilled “contact jugglers”. I don’t think I could roll a basketball down my arm very well and definitely not a rubber bouncy ball with some metal in it.

The balls seem to have a little bit of a gyroscope type of movement.

Is this ball worth $19.99? Heck no! I don’t think the infomercial is going to make any money although when they use the infomercial to launch their product in local Walmart’s as well as our very own Tyler Walmart I think they will make some serious money on this.

For whatever reason people love new and different ball creations. I gave personally been the recipient of those balls that have goo and smaller balls inside them with netting on the outside.

I have broken a couple of them in the process of playing with them. I think I only paid 99 cents for these balls. I don’t think I would have paid $19.99 for the experience of squishiness.

Would I pay 19.99 for the therapeutic feeling of defying gravity on my hands and arms? I would not but I might pay 99 cents for it if I saw it on the “as seen on TV” section at Walmart in Tyler.

These infomercial guru’s may very well create a whole new hackey sack type of phenomenon and we will see these things everywhere.

Tyler TX teachers will be taking them up in class along with hackey sacks, yo yo’s and the all new glow in the dark Fushigi Balls.

Tyler Area Zip Lines

NY TX Zip Line Adventures

It seems like a recent trend over the last few years, but Zip- lining has become a huge phenomenon! In fact, nearly every time I turn around, either someone is telling me about their experience, or I’m seeing someone trying it on television.

Now for those hard core enthusiasts, who are likely to protest that the hobby is not new, I know, I know… I’m only asserting that there has been a renewed interest of late. I recall as a kid playing at my uncle’s house where he had run an admittedly short line through the hills around his Vancouver Island home. That line was admittedly rudimentary but we had a great time.

There is now a professional series of lines in East Texas. The company is called NY- TX Zip Line Adventures and they are located at Shultz Mountain Ranch about twenty miles east of Athens. The historic Shultz home is the center piece and home base for the ranch. The views are tremendous and guests can ride through six different zip tours, the longest of which is nine hundred feet long and a hundred feet above ground.

From looking at the pictures available on the site the surrounding landscapes are really beautiful! They also offer a tour available only to returning visitors. It’s called the Full Moon tour, and it whisks participants through the Piney Woods on moon lit nights. Now there is a price to be paid for an adventure like this, and it’s not particularly cheap. The cost for a single rider on one tour is sixty dollars. Add three tours and the cost is eighty dollars.

And there are price reductions available for church groups by the way. Even though the admission fee is rather high, the experience looks to be worth the cost for those who can afford it. If I had more disposable income, I would certainly pay Zip Line Adventures near Tyler Texas a visit. As it is, I’ll have to wait a bit longer before taking in a day or night of flying through the forest. NY- TX Zip Line Adventures is located off 155 past Fat Dogs, on Farm Road 3506.

For more information visit their web site at www.goziptexas.com/index.html. This is a great site with a lot of information and incredible pics. I advise spending a little time looking it over before going. For those who do decide to go, have a great time, then licheck back with our site and tell us about your experience!
