It seems like everybody likes a little scandal and controversy and what with all the tabloids and entertainment/celebrity tv shows like “extra” and “tmz” focused on just that it is made readily handy to us. And when it comes to diets and diet fads there definitely is no lack of scandal and the gossip about it.
The HCG weight loss program has no lack of such things when it comes to how and if it works. But the controversy in the HCG program has taken on a new face and that face belongs to Kevin Trudeau.
If you take a look at Trudeau’s past it seems scandal and controversy follows him where ever he goes nowadays with many lawsuits due to misrepresentation of products on his infomercials. The interesting part is that the controversy that Trudeau has brought to HCG has been more beneficial than not.
Comments about HCG Hormone Diets
The first aspect of the controversy created by Trudeau was how he rocked the boat a little bit with statements from his book “The Weight Loss Cure “They” Don’t Want You To Know About” in which he has made claim that the FDA and drug companies are secretly trying to keep people from knowing about the HCG hormone and it’s help in weight loss in order to benefit themselves.
Be it true or not, Trudeau’s book has brought a bit of a revival to the HCG weight loss solution. Unfortunately, the controversy has not stopped there. It seems some of Trudeau’s skeletons have returned from the closet and, once again, he is being brought before the law for deceiving statements made about the HCG diet plan.

For those of you who give much value to the commissions and administrations our government has established to regulate all areas of our society, you would be interested to hear what they say about your HCG weight loss program.
And it isn’t anything new. At one point in the 1970’s HCG became the most used weight loss substance throughout the United States. That is, until the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had their word.
In 1976 the FTC ordered specific organizations and clinics that sold and distributed HCG injections to no longer describe HCG as a safe, effective, and viable weight loss program approved by the FDA.
And since that time all HCG promoters and distributers have been required to issue in writing this warning:
THESE WEIGHT REDUCTION TREATMENTS INCLUDE THE INJECTION OF HCG, A DRUG WHICH HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION AS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE IN THE TREATMENT OF OBESITY OR WEIGHT CONTROL. THERE IS NO SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE THAT HCG INCREASES WEIGHT LOSS BEYOND THAT RESULTING FROM CALORIC RESTRICTION, THAT IT CAUSES A MORE ATTRACTIVE OR “NORMAL” DISTRIBUTION OF FAT OR THAT IT DECREASES THE HUNGER AND DISCOMFORT ASSOCIATED WITH CALORIE-RESTRICTIVE DIETS.
On top of this written warning the FDA required labeling and advertising to make this statement: HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity.
There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.
Surprisingly enough, despite such opposition from the FDA and FTC HCG continues to be a widely used weight loss option.

As you probably already know, the main ingredient of the HCG weight loss plan is the HCG, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, hormone.
Also, as you probably know, the hormone was discovered in pregnant women. So as we look into whether or not we want this to be our weight loss solution we need to ask the question, how is it produced?
Injections of Hormone to Lose Weight, Good or Bad Idea?
Many detractors and casual informants of HCG have stated that the product is manufactured from the urine of pregnant women. Of course, any truth of this would be hidden from the general public by HCG suppliers to avoid any controversy. And in fact hcgdietinfo.com claims adamantly that this is not true.
But a further look into other spheres, namely steroid users who use HCG to increase their testosterone, has shown that it is understood that the hormone is excreted from the urine as it passes uncontaminated in a pregnant women’s blood through the kidneys.
Truth be told, even if it were true, how would we find out? On the other side of the coin we have read and been told that production of HCG in the United States is done in a FDA registered lab and that it has been prepared according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia.
Further research shows that the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia is a book of conditions and standards that must be met when producing homeopathic products. Of course, we have no idea if those standards include excreting from urine.
General research of the subject still leaves questions, so when it comes to whether or not you wish to use or continue to use HCG a more thorough search with a physician or supplier would need to be done.

For some in Tyler, Texas, the aid of a diet pill can be invaluable for kick starting weight loss. Many diet pills are available as a prescription through your Tyler, Texas health care practitioner. While all drugs come with risks, prescription grade diet pills are regulated by the FDA and the dosages are carefully measured. Additionally, your progress will be closely monitored by your doctor, so any adverse effects can be dealt with in a timely manner.

When it comes to over the counter diet aids in Tyler, Texas, however, it’s pretty much luck of the draw. These products are not FDA regulated and people can get into a lot of trouble using them. Ingredients in these pills vary both in type and amounts, even from pill to pill in the same bottle. What’s worse is that long term use can result in dependency on the pill to feel “normal” and continue losing weight.
For those that are truly obese or have tried every traditional method of weight loss with little success, diet pills can be just the thing to get them over the hump and on the road to substantial weight loss. Blindly ingesting any drug, however, could prove unhealthy and even fatal. If you have come to the conclusion that you will not be able to lose weight without the aid of a diet pill, talk to your Tyler, Texas doctor to see what he or she recommends. Your doctor has your best intentions at heart, not the weight loss industry.
