Tyler, Texas Drywall and Texturing: Your Contractor Knows His Stuff

August 18th, 2010

There are many things you should consider when choosing the type of drywall that is best for your Tyler, Texas home, but how to hang it probably shouldn’t be one of them.  Consider the different thicknesses available, how much fire resistance is offered by each, and even the amount of thermal insulation one thickness will provide compared with another, but leave the process of installation to someone who knows what they are doing: your contractor. You may call professional drywaller and texturer Javier at 903-248-7227 for a free quote over the phone. Drywall is heavy and drywall is fragile.  This does not make for a user-friendly installation, particularly on ceilings where one must strain against gravity to position the drywall just right without losing balance or grip on the drywall itself.  Start cutting out sections to fit around windows and electrical outlets and you’ll soon discover why wise homeowners leave this job to the professionals. Since you are going to hire a contractor to install your drywall, why not have them go ahead and finish the job while they are there will a little bit of drywall texturing.  Texturing can add a great deal of beauty and visual interest to your walls and ceilings and is relatively inexpensive.  Talk to your drywall contractor to see if this is a service he can perform for you. You may call Javier at 903-248-7227 for a free quote over the phone. Javier is a professional home remodeling contractor who has worked on several Tyler, Texas home remodeling projects at very affordable prices.

Plumbers in Tyler TX

June 16th, 2010

When deciding on a plumber in Tyler you may have run into some of the issues I have.

Quite a few seasoned Tyler TX plumbing companies are basically one man companies. These guys are very good at what they do and often have settled on new construction only.

Why new construction only? The reason is simply because it is easier and less of a headache.

Consider that many a Tyler TX home owner is of the high maintenance type. These home owners will complain and gripe about every little tear and rip in their tile and drywall.

Keep in mind that your plumber is not a drywall contractor and many times a demolition of a wall is needed to complete a plumbing job behind a wall.

Of course most plumbers can refer you to a contractor capable of coming in after the plumbing job and mudding the damaged drywall, texturing, and then painting over it to match the rest of the wall.

Most plumbers in Tyler will want to know from the outset that if they will be doing your plumbing job in an already built house that you will not be a bad customer.

In my opinion and what I do in my house is hire contractors that do handy man work. These type of contractors are not licensed plumbers but they also cost about three times cheaper as well.

The best thing about a handy man contractor is that  they are happy and willing to do your plumbing work even though it is not a new construction job.

New construction is much easier simply because the wall and drywall has not been constructed yet. The plumber can lay out pipe, PVC, and insert knobs and cutoffs with little effort.

For many a seasoned plumber it may have been several years since they have had to pull down an old piece of drywall to find a leak.

Rather than pay $75 – $90 an hour for a licensed plumber in Tyler Texas to complete your job take up our suggestion and hire a handy man.

Feel free to use our contact form on this page if you would like information on the handy man company we use at our house.
