Hollywood Theater Tyler Texas
Every time I drive by Hollywood I am always surprised that there are cars there. Honestly, I am shocked that they are still in business. The theater used to be the popular place to go see a movie. Maybe that is because at one time it was the only theater. I remember the first time I walked into Hollywood theater as a young child. I was blown away by the large screen in the lobby and the colorful carpet. The screens used to be the largest I had seen. And the quality of film was great. Sadly nothing has changed.
As all the other theaters have changed to using digital projectors, Hollywood Theaters still uses the old film. The movies get sent to the theater in about five different reels of film. The projectionist puts the film together into one really large reel by using a strong tape. This process can be pretty easy but it is also easy to make a mistake. If you ever have been to the theater and all of a sudden the film turns upside down, whoever had put together the film, taped the reels wrong and did not match up the pictures on the reels. Also you may have been to the theater and the film jumps and all a sudden you can only see the top part of the movie because it is not centered, this is a very common mistake that is made. In-between reels the projectionist left a small gap. Even the smallest mistake in taping can make the movie messed up. But it is not very hard to correct these mistakes, it is just time consuming. When using digital movies these annoying mistakes do not happen and it makes the movie so much more enjoyable. Digital movies are so clear and you do not have to worry about complaining to a manager that your movie screen is just white.
One of the first things that you do when you walk into the theater is spend twenty dollars on popcorn, drinks, and candy. If you are spending so much money on snacks you want to get the best for your money. At one point the theater’s snack counter had the customer scoop the butter for your popcorn with a giant spoon out of an open hot container. This is in no way clean or sanitary.
Although there are a lot of issues at Hollywood Theater, my biggest issue is the nasty seats. The last time I had thought about going there I was about to bring trash bags to sit on. Usually the lights are really dim so that you can not see what you are about to sit in. The seats look like they are covered in a black tar. Every time I have gone to see a movie here I feel like I have to go home and take a shower and I can not enjoy the movie. The only thing that the employees do between show times is throw trash away and sometimes do a quick sweep. The floor is always sticky and the whole place has a weird smell.
At Hollywood Theater you can not enjoy your movie. You are paying all this money to feel frustrated and grossed out. Hollywood needs to get their chairs cleaned and their employees need to learn how to mop the floor. I may one day return to the theater if they start showing movies using digital projectors, and when they learn how to clean, but for now I will stick to going to the other two theaters in Tyler.

For those who go to TJC like my wife you may have noticed over the last many years a lot of ghetto hollering player wannabe’s on campus harrasing women as they walk to their cars.
This will all change this Fall semester as all students and faculty must where ID tags on a necklace around their necks. I for one am very happy about this change. Anyone having been at TJC for the last few years is probably happy as well.
Let me tell you a little story about why we are so happy about this new development for those who don’t like ID necklaces.
I have seen it many times before but just wrote it off as young punk kids and went on to class. It wasn’t as bad when I went to school at TJC but in the last couple of years it was getting down right ridiculous.
I interviewed a couple different groups walking around on campus in the past and asked them “what’s up?” and so forth like I am another typical punk wondering around looking for some booty.
Both times they told me they didn’t go to school there but were just chillin’ and so forth trying to look fly and other nonsense. So I got the picture that TJC had become a better Wal-Mart type of hook up location where gangsters can meet slutty women they can take back to their crib and maybe get them hooked on some crack.
TJC had truly become an undesirable place for me the more obnoxious these player types began to be. It got really bad to the point that everytime I would walk to my car to go home after class I would see atleast two gangster looking dudes with some big fat gold chains and stuff asking for women’s numbers as they went to their cars.
My wife would get these guys doing the same stuff to her when she would leave for class at night.
She started interviewing teachers and students and many of them would tell her the same thing and that they felt unsafe leaving class to get into their vehicles at night.
TJC had become a hang out spot for drug dealers and player pimp types.
Thank goodness TJC has implemented a new policy that requires all students and faculty to wear a student ID necklace around their neck to indicate their status.
This ID requirement could not be more needed than it is now. TJC was becoming a criminal hang out for awhile there.
I personally know of a family member we are not real happy with who married one of these pimp player drug dealer people that were not students of TJC.
They met out at the parking lot probably as he was yelling, “Hey girl can I have yo number!” and she actually responded well to this?
They got married and now this guy is in jail for felony robbery and drug dealing.
TJC thank you for doing something truly beneficial after so many years of security guards only being good at issuing parking tickets.

Narc Your Car Work From Home Business or Ponzi Scheme?
There is a new work from home business that is more of an online only type of thing that even people who did not know much about the internet could participate in until it was shut down for being a scam. Narc That Car wanted to build up a very large database of car and truck license plate information but in reality a few at the top likely made a lot of money at the expense of their reps.
This license plate information was supposed to be combined with the address location where you may have seen the car. You could simply snap some car license plate photos with your cell phone. Once you get home you just type that license plate information into the Narc That Car website along with the address information where you saw the car. To many it sounded too good to be true to get paid for this type of work and it turns out it was.
So why would an online database company want to pay people for something as simple as narcing a cars license plate and location information? The reason has to do with lien holders finding this information extremely valuable. Another reason could be that this company knew they could keep people confused about this long enough to reap a ton of profits. There are Tyler Texas automobile owners who default on their car payments yet keep driving their car anyway and for many it made sense to to have this type of service. 
Instead of returning their car to the local Tyler Texas car dealer they bought it from they pretend as if nothing is wrong. Narc Your Car claimed to be able to help people find these cars and offered an opportunity to pay you for your assistance.
The car license plate database company would pay you for each license plate you entered into their system. In theory you could make a nice little side income by doing a simple task like this. There are a lot of database companies using conventional means by hiring people to call you and ask you consumer informational questions. The Narc That Car website is a simpler more affordable way for a database company to get this niche specialized information without paying as much as a traditional method would cost or it is a clever ponzi scheme. As time played out it appears this company was nothing more than a basic ponzi scam.
The Narc That Car concept didn’t allow for traditional means of getting to this information since they need onsite eyeballs finding these cars and reporting them. You could report any car you might find. For instance, if you were at a Wal-Mart parking lot Narc That Car would pay you for every car you reported on their website however many people in the company complained of not getting paid.
Narc That Car seems to have been completely scraped from the web as there is no more information about this company coming from an official company source.

Tyler Barnes and Noble is a place where you can go and find the book you are looking for. They have all kinds of books on all kinds of topics. I go to Barnes and Nobles sometimes with my friends and I love to hang out and look around at the books they have. They don’t mind if you pick a seat and read a book or so. They make it so that you can feel right at home if you decide to read there.
They also have a place where they have magazines anywhere from those on fashion, people, cars, your home, food and other types of topics. They also have a selection for your children and they have it set up to where if you want to sit down and read to your child you can.
Inside the Tyler Barnes and Noble they also have a Starbucks and you know that everyone likes a good cup of coffee while you are reading a good book. If you don’t like looking around for a book or don’t feel like reading you can choose to hang out with your friends and have a cup of coffee and catch up on old times.
Barnes and Noble book store often has sales so you can find books there for a reasonable price especially if using your Barnes and Nobles customer card. If you don’t have the money to buy the book then you can just go and read while you are there. I am sure they won’t care if you hang out, have a cup of coffee and read a book without purchasing it. I have done this on numerous occasions although they know you will take one or two home eventually and this is why this type of setup works.

Santa Land is located off Hwy 20 going towards Dallas. Santa Land opens up November 1 every year and stays open during the Holiday Season until January 4th. Cost $25 per car and $35 per 15 passenger van. I have been there several times so far and the waiting period has been around one hour or so depending on the time you arrive there. The sooner you get there, the less you have to wait. It is an excellent thing to do for your children and your family during Christmas.
You might think that going around and looking at the Christmas lights around Tyler might be cheaper and less of a waiting period. I guarantee you it won’t be as fun as going at least once through Santa Land. You can go run by a fast food place and eat it in the car while you wait in line. While you are waiting in line you can use that time to listen to music or talk to your children or you can just be silent. There are people that walk around your cars and try to sell you all kinds of stuff that lights up and it costs $5 dollars per item (These people are not with Santa Land or a part of the park. Santa Land only sells things within their gate).
Beyond just the light show display there is The 4000 sq ft gift shop filled with ornaments of all varieties.
There is a Snack shack where you can buy some really delicious hot chocolate, homemade treats, fudge, cookies, and much more.
They have tractor drawn trailer rides and a real live Santa Claus to meet and take pictures with that starts Thanksgiving and runs until Christmas.
I know you are probably thinking you can do without spending all this time on something that will only last for a little while. You are right, you can do without it but your children will love it. We even broke down and bought a sword that lights up and my 22 month old loved it. It was worth it just to see how excited she was to play with the toy and spending time with mommy and daddy while looking at the awesome lights. You only get to come here once a year so I think you can spare $25 dollars a year to go and have some fun with your friends and family and if you really don’t have $25 dollars to spend then borrow a 15 passenger van and get some of your friends together and split the cost. That will be even cheaper than $25 dollar.
Either way you do it I think it will be worth your time and money. I know you are waiting to hear what goes on around Santa Land for that much money? When you enter Santa Land they tell you the music radio station that you need to turn to while you are there. The whole place is filled with lights of all types and shapes and is synced with the radio channel that plays Christmas music. They have the Santa Wish shop and his little elves helping Santa. Also they have scenes depicting Jesus, all kinds of flowers and so many other lights. My words really don’t do justice to the place and no matter how hard I try to describe the place you will have to go see it for yourself as to what Santa Land has to offer.
After you are done watching all the lights they have, then you can stop and go look at all the things they have to sell. They have some really neat stuff actually and the price is probably around the same as other places. While I was there I saw an item that was $12 dollars and it was three crosses made out of metal. The item was real nice looking metal made to represent the crucifixion of Jesus. I thought that paying $12 for something like that was not too bad if you like or collect crosses. You will mainly find a galore of different Christmas related items for sale and most of the items are a splendid display of ornaments of all kinds.
The Santa Land Wish Shop has a little something for everyone’s liking but it’s mainly about the kids. After all that shopping you will probably have worked up an appetite and be hungry. They have an area where you can order something to eat but I would drive up I20 to Bodacious barbecue for some real food. The owner, Cindy has done a wonderful job in making this a family experience sure to leave lasting memories for everyone. Well, I hope I convinced you to go visit Santa Land come this next holiday season.

TJC Cleaning Up Campus
