About three months ago my brother stopped by my house to borrow a book. Fortunately I was not at home because he and his wife were able to smell gas before even entering the house. Lacking an acute sense of smell I brought a couple friends who immediately validated what my brother had told me. I called the gas company but the gentleman who responded was unable to pinpoint the source of the leak. After about a thirty minute examination of the house he decided the only course of action available was to disconnect the gas. I would need to get a plumber to test the pipes and locate and fix the leaks before the gas could be reconnected.
Obviously some time was required to save up the necessary funds. So following several months of cool mornings and cold showers I finally managed to scrape together enough money to have someone come look at the problem. Now before disclosing the resolution of my tale, I should offer a bit of criticism of our dear inspector here in Tyler, who recently mandated that all gas plumbing be tested at a pressure of ten pounds per square inch, (p.s.i.), a very high bar considering the gas companies only provide their product at four p.s.i. The increased pressure actually creates a real problem for owners of older homes like mine. The higher pressure can actually create more leaks than would otherwise exist. Of course it could mean more work for area plumbers and local inspectors, but I’m fairly sure the high standards are merely a means of increasing safety, and not a city make-work program… right?
All this being said; after briefly speaking with a number of area plumbers, I settled on a good company. The guys at American Plumbing Company did a great job for me. They climbed under my house, diagnosed the problems, removed some unnecessary plumbing under the house, and fixed some leaks that were very difficult to reach. They did all this while I was on a tight budget, helping me keep track of the money I spent on labor and materials. Most importantly, they were honest, keeping me informed of everything they had done, and advising me on what they needed to do. At the end of a long day the pipes were fixed and I enjoyed the first hot shower I’d had at home in weeks.

You can reach our preferred Landscape and plumbing fixit Tyler home contractors by calling Tim and Christi at 903-769-9485
We have used a few different plumbers to help us with our Tyler homes renovation projects but we really lucked out with our latest contractor. Before finding our current plumbing contractor I brought in some different plumbers that charged anywhere from $65 – $75 an hour and didn’t really seem to have the type of experience and ability that I would expect for paying $65 an hour. These other Tyler Texas plumbers got the job done but at a cost I cannot continue to afford to pay.
My cabinet painter told me about an experienced company that could hook up my sink and dishwasher correctly and for a good price. He explained that this company is affordable and experienced. I called Tim and Christi up with Wildflower Landscape and Irrigation and they came over and began the work on the Moen sink faucet set, the sink, dishwasher, and refridgerator. They were meticulous to make positively sure there were absolutely no leaks. They installed a brand new sink faucet set I bought at Lowes and made it look perfect. They also got the dishwasher into my custom cabinets in a really snug fit. They installed the cabinet fitting over the dishwasher so the dishwasher was established in the wall.
The refridgerator was hooked up to the water and works great. The sinkerator food disposal was also hooked up by Tim and Christi with Wildflower landscape and irrigation. The button for the disposal was installed into our granite countertops and the whole setup looks perfect. They were able to complete the job quickly and without any problems. I was very happy with their professionalism and how much care goes into their work. Tim and Christi really care about the job they do for their customers and it shows. You will notice that they never do a half way done job but always go above and beyond to the point of perfection which is many times not the case when working with a Tyler home building contractor.
We do not recommend every home building contractor that comes into our Tyler TX home but we are more then pleased with Tim and Christi of Wildflower Landscape and Irrigation.
You can reach Tim and Christi at 903-769-9485

On Demand Water Heaters in Tyler Texas
You may have heard on the radio or seen on the TV a new type of water heater called an “On-Demand” water heater. These water heaters are generally installed outside on your house and are a small box. Within this box you have some natural gas pipes and some water pipes. The water is heated based only on what you use and only at the time you use it. Instead of having a large tank full of hot water constantly being reheated this tankless water heater heats on demand. This will save you a lot of money and saved me so much I on;y pay about $20 a month to heat my water and heat my house.
Because the on demand water heater uses natural gas you have a one to one ratio when heating your water instead of the creation, storage, and transportation costs of electricity. Natural gas power is a lot cheaper and will heat your water much cheaper than electricity ever could.
Heated in a One To One Basis At Much Cheaper Energy Costs
Since natural gas is raw fuel used to heat your home you are heating your home based on a one to one basis. With electricity you have transmission and distribution as well as storage. The transmission fees and charges add additional costs to your energy that you do not see with natural gas. Natural gas is cheaper than electricity and it doesn’t take as much of it to heat your home or water.
I Bought My On Demand Water heater From Coburns
I bought into the whole idea of a tankless hot water heater after investigating the science. I calculated that I would save money by going this route. I checked into the practicality of a tankless water heater and what I found was so long as you have it hooked up to natural gas it operates very well. If you have your tankless water heater hooked up to anything else I recommend sticking with traditional water heater in a tank. The reason for discouraging those without natural gas has to do with the water heater heating your water slower than you would like.
For quality on demand water heater products in Tyler we recommend buying your water heater where we did. You can buy a quality on demand water heater from Coburns

Solar Water Heaters Can Be Bought In Tyler From Go TREE Power
There are such things as solar water heaters that the sun heats and they still use the large traditional tanks. If you do not have natural gas at your house than the solar powered water heater tanks work very well. You can check out solar powered water heaters by contacting our preferred Tyler TX solar company here.
