Tyler really is blooming in every part of town. It seems like everytime I go to the Northwest part of Tyler there are new businesses going up and that part of town was onced dubbed “ghetto.”
There will soon be an IHOP restaurant in that area next to the Walmart and Highway 64 and it will be the second IHOP in the city.
The chain has been around for about 55 years and is known for its famous pancakes. As everyone well knows, IHOP originally stood for “International House of Pancakes” but ownership decided to just go by IHOP and trademarked the name.
According to the IHOP website, as of September of last year, there were 1,565 IHOP locations in the United States and also in Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
One thing people love about IHOP is the variety. You can eat breakfast foods at anytime of the day or you can go for a nice cheeseburger or some wings. During college, I went to IHOP all the time to drink one cup of coffee after another while working on homework.
I fully expect the new IHOP to flourish in its future location. Being right next to Walmart certainly can’t hurt and it’ll be nice to have another option for food that’s open 24/7.
